Today we’re excited to share the launch of a shiny new version of the rich snippet testing tool, now called the structured data testing tool. The major improvements are:
- We’ve improved how we display rich snippets in the testing tool to better match how they appear in search results.
- The brand new visual design makes it clearer what structured data we can extract from the page, and how that may be shown in our search results.
- The tool is now available in languages other than English to help webmasters from around the world build structured-data-enabled websites.
The new structured data testing tool works with all supported rich snippets and authorship markup, including applications, products, recipes, reviews, and others.
Try it yourself and, as always, if you have any questions or feedback, please tell us in the Webmaster Help Forum.

This is awesome. I love it when Google provides free tools.
Love the new tool! But I think there's a bug in extraction of authorship. Try this one:

Anton ain't the author :-(.
He IS however the author of a review that is contained on that page, but that markup is contained within the review element. Unless I've screwed that up....
Very disappointed that the HTML now only allows 1500 characters max. This makes testing very difficult for large sites with dev servers that are publicly inaccessible.
Sure I could edit the code down to fit the 1500 character limit, but then it's not practical because it doesn't test the actual code. Then we won't find out if that's correct until we publish. And if the markup is incorrect then it goes back in the publishing queue all over again.
Please raise the limit up to at least 30,000 characters.
I'm the one who disappointed with this update. The main domain is correctly analyzed, but not with the rest of posts. The message is "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Really great post, Thank you for sharing free tools.
It is really great to have fresh information here about new free tools provided by Google to their users. Thank you.
I tested my blog's homepage and it's marked every Twitter profile link on my homepage (i.e. referenced within recent posts) as "Linked author profiles"...? Is that right?
Well the tool is really nice but it's still not working for some of my sites.
For example for the site in my title the Rich Snippet Testing Tools show my Google+ author profile (Craig Wilson) but this doesn't appear on the actual search results.
Hey this is great why we've no example for Video rich snippet ? is it because of Youtube predominant ?
Wow amazing really I like.

I can tell too that there is a bug in it
Its a good tool. Very well improved visually !
i wanna know how i can make my blogspot in a rich snippet data?
Well very good. The problem comes though when they display rich snippets (reviews) in SERPS for a week or so than then remove them all. They still work in the testing tool, there's a link to Google's own review page, and when you use their form to ask what's going on you don't receive any reply.
And it's infuriating when you see reviews in SERPS for other sites which are planly false!
So i have structured data in my site...it shows it's cataloged through web master tools, how long does it take to show up in search results?
Great tool, it's just...
Cant make it work for one of my sites. Keep getting a notice that the service is currently unavailable, I should try again later. Tried for 3 days now. But when testing with Bing markup tester it works fine, I see all the snippets.
Great article. I have found it helpful reading through Google blogs for any information am searching about SEO compared to reading other blogs online
Hey Google,
I'm not using any tools called web master tools so dont email and annoy me with threatened message about wmt.
Quite disappointed in the 1500-character limit. When you have a site that integrates the markup into the page code, there isn't a clean way to paste the code into this tool now and see if the markup works without the page being live. Please raise this limit.
I get "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later." pasting the code as code into the HTML window works, but it wont read any page from my site...
Doesn't seem to work on a database-driven product page. Like others, I keep getting the "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable" error. The tool itself seems to be up, since my html-only blog analyzes fine.
I think the tool is having issues.
Sites that validated less than 30 days ago, using the old tool, either get a service unavailable error or they return
no data detected
no author detected
no publisher detected
no preview
Complete blank.
good tool worked fine for me a month back, but now I get "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later" - no matter whatever the site is or whatever the browser is.
It would be cool if the sub items were indented under their parent. Other than that, a very useful tool. Love it!
Great to know about the updates of google the content would be very understandable and user friendly
Hi, there is this issue coming up saying: "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Could you please resolve this issue Google? I am using Bings' tools now and think they are doing a way better job!
still the same issue: "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Google, why can't you do a better job on this?
Each time I test my blog, I get:
"We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Is there any solution to this?
I tested my site using Rich Snippet Testing Tools, and it appears in the preview, but this doesn't appear on the actual search results, what's up?
still the same issue: "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Google, whai i do,pls help this is my site

Apparently (I'm having the same "unavailable" issue) if you type the url of a non-existent page, (say www.yourdomain.com/blog/) the tool works, but just to report that it can't find the page.
Yet, for instance, it displays my pic as it finds it in my linked G+ account.
Weird... no way to make it work on my website, though.
We're finding that the "Structured Data Testing Tool" is NOT finding the structured schema.org data on our pages, even though:
1. The Google Webmaster Tools "Structured Data" IS showing structured data found in the pages.
2. The Bing and Yandex structured data validators are finding the data on the pages.
3. Copying and pasting the HTML from a page on our domain to a different domain and running the tool on the new URL *does* find the structured data.
This leads us to believe that there's something related to our domain that is affecting the way that the "Structured Data Testing Tool" is interacting with our site.
If you are using Wordpress, try disabling anti-spam plugins such as "Bad Behavior" for wordpress. We found that these plugins can conflict with Google's tools.
I have 2 Wordpress blogs and disabled the anti-spam plugin "Bad Behavior", then using the "Structured Data Testing Tool" yesterday I was able to get Rich Snippets information from them. I was thrilled to see it working.
But then today (Sunday 5/19/13) I tested them today and get the error message "We are sorry. The service you requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later." message again. I looked at the source for 1 blog post I was testing and I have this HTML code in the post [link rel="author" href="GOOGLE-PROFILE-ID-URL"/]
P.S. Substituted "[" for "<" and "]" for ">" in link above since comment form does not allow link HTML
What can be wrong now?
I am so frustrated!!!
