Webmaster level: AllToday we’re announcing two updates to rich snippets.
First, we’re happy to announce that product rich snippets, which previously were only available in a limited set of locales, are supported globally. Users viewing your site’s results in Google search can now preview information about products available on your website, regardless of where they’re searching from. Here’s an example of a product rich snippet:

I would love to know any specific requirements for getting authorship rich snippets. Seems like all we need is an active G+ profile and some people in our circles. Otherwise we are all in the dark as to what is "required".
It's hard to justify a small change, like authorship markup, in a corporate environment without clarity on if it will even work.

WHY are adult-related products not supported for rich snippets ? What is the problem, since there is no picture displayed ???
Are loveshops, selling perfectly legal items, not worthy of having nice SERPs displayed too ? I find that really unjust.
There's something I don't understand : IMDb is used as example to explain us how the rich snippets for the Movie type work. But actually there's no rich snippets for IMDb in the SERP. Have they been removed ? Is it a bug ?

Thank you for the changes, we can now see the rich snippets for our website in the SERPs. Just one thing: Is there any way to differentiate between "expert reviews" and "user reviews"? Currently it just says "reviews".
I'm asking because for example in German language you translate the word "reviews" with "Erfahrungsberichte" which is not exactly correct because it means "user reviews".
In Google Shopping there is already a distinction between "Editorial reviews" and "User reviews", see here for example:

test HTML source without having to publish it to a web page. this is awsome..In the past i had to publish a post and then test it using rich snippets tools and if any markup or microdata is incorrect, , i had to unpublish the post and make corrections..this will definitely save a lot of time troubleshooting..
To increase the CTR of a ranked page, it is necessary to have such snippets that gives much more information before a user clicks, also help a page to balance the bounce rate.
From manufacturer aspect, star ratings are important for CTR, but offer (wholesale) prices are not mostly displayed on the landing page. Customizable product and service prices are also not generally displayed.
When will "product images" be displayed? Even if product images displayed on review pages if a product (itemrevieved) was reviewed (and if they were marked with data-vocabulary.org and nested in review)
Displaying images for "pure" product pages can be especially great for manufacturers / wholesale / customizable product or service providers.
What about all the spam in rich snippets ? A lot of webmasters are using rich snippets in auto generation to have stars near their result.

Basic questions: Is Schema.org now supported for a) products and b)product reviews? Last I checked you only got stars on the SERP if you were using the old hreview format. Also: can the product markup be used on a page that describes the product specs but doesn't not offer the item for sale? Or is this just for pages where an item is being sold? Thanks
Is it ok to hide rich snippet info on the website? If I have a book that I am promoting on the website I would like to show the name of the book and the link to it's page; I would like the rich snippet data available though for this but I do not want to list all of that info on the website. Is it ok to hide schema markup? Thanks.
If I have a business with one website and two locations and I give each location an interior page that includes hcard addresses on each page for the respective business, can I put both addresses on the home page in hcard/schema? Will that help the robots locate my locations or will it confuse the robots from understanding my locations. Should I only put one, or none at all on the homepage and leave the addresses on the interior location pages?

What about abuse of rich snippets? I've seen a few sites now that simply include them so they'll have stars next to their site on the SERP. Are there any plans to control it?

The last time I saw the ratings stars for products was about 3 weeks ago.
