Webmasters - configure Google services at your hosting panel

Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 8:34 AM

Webmaster Level: All

Today, as announced on the Official Google Blog, we’ve taken an additional step to improve access to Google webmaster services. Parallels, one of the leading providers of control panel software to hosting companies, has integrated Google Services for Websites into Parallels Plesk Panel, used by millions of website owners globally to manage their websites.

If you use Plesk for managing your hosting and website services, you can easily configure Webmaster Tools, Custom Search, Site Search, Web Elements and AdSense for your website right from within Plesk.

Since Plesk knows what domains you own, it automatically registers your domains to Webmaster Tools and allows you to automatically login to the Webmaster Tools console to verify your sites, as shown below.

We’re always trying to make our tools easier to use and easier to access. Since you’re probably visiting your hosting control panel on a regular basis, we hope that you find this integration convenient. If you have feedback please let us know in the Webmaster Forum.

The comments you read here belong only to the person who posted them. We do, however, reserve the right to remove off-topic comments.

Good to listen.

Any word on cPanel integration? I have never liked how long it takes to administer a server (with vague terms that are removed from what you're actually doing) with Plesk.

Yes, cpanel please....

Would you also consider integration with Godaddy? Is there a roadmap?

I agree, this is a great move, but integration with other providers (cPANEL please!) is vital in ensuring a fair market for all

Yes, cPanel would be nice, but I'd point it out that this doesn't really depend on Google but rather on the CP team so it might be worth nudging them and not Google :)

This is really an excellent small yet powerful innovative idea which can help the webmasters in a great way which can also provide the Google with a fair idea on the in and out of hosting services, Net ID and Host ID of a website’s server, part or its entire configuration, and website’s server data. Yet, Google needs to focus on other smaller things such as restructuring its existing, revenue generating products like Orkut, unless betting more on under-development products by funding them massively. Orkut is a very flexible platform which can be reformed into money minting machine by using common sense and no innovation is required, not even a great deal of funding is required as its already a well established brand and an existing platform. As being a WebMaster myself, I am working on it and can provide assistance to Google in transforming Orkut (other products as well) based on the knowledge acquired till now and future product’s research, if given an opportunity by Google. I agree with many others here that cPanel integration is what we are looking forward. I have been using cPanel to manage my host since the day 1 I use my host. I am really look forward to see this happen.
