Webmaster Level: AllIn May this year we announced Rich Snippets which makes it possible to show structured data from your pages on Google's search results.
We're convinced that structured data makes the web better, and we've worked hard to expand Rich Snippets to more search results and collect your feedback along the way. If you have review or people/social networking content on your site, it's easier than ever to mark up your content using microformats or RDFa so that Google can better understand it to generate useful Rich Snippets. Here are a few helpful improvements on our end to enable you to mark up your content:
Testing tool. See what Google is able to extract, and preview how microformats or RDFa marked-up pages would look on Google search results. Test your URLs on the Rich Snippets Testing Tool.
Google Custom Search users can also use the Rich Snippets Testing Tool to test markup usable in their Custom Search engine.
Better documentation. We've extended our documentation to include a new section containing Tips & Tricks and Frequently Asked Questions. Here we have responded to common points of confusion and provided instructions on how to maximize the chances of getting Rich Snippets for your site.
Extended RDFa support. In addition to the Person RDFa format, we have added support for the corresponding fields from the FOAF and vCard vocabularies for all those of you who asked for it.
Videos. If you have videos on your page, you can now mark up your content to help Google find those videos.
As before, marking up your content does not guarantee that Rich Snippets will be shown for your site. We will continue to expand this feature gradually to ensure a great user experience whenever Rich Snippets are shown in search results.

Whilst I applaud the short term idea behind your efforts (not the long term one of using our content so that folks never again have to click through to our sites), what would be nice is if Google actually took the effort to start showing these structured results more often.

However the tool showed all the necessary microformat fields from the page in the "Extracted Rich Snippet data from the page" section.
How do I know what is wrong with my microformat?
Good job google in understanding webmaster issue... now big dynamic site dont need to worry about crawling issue in google. This is the best update google has done.
I will experiment Rich Snippets Testing Tool for my site.
Any idea when this feature will be rolled out to International websites? We support microformats for few years and that'd be great to see them used.
Your checker doesn't completely follow the Microformats specifications for 'tel'.

If an element with the class name 'tel' is created with another element called 'type' inside of it, but the phone number isn't contained within an 'value' element, it should ignore the 'type' and only show what is contained within the 'tel' without any hCard elements around it...
Or in short.... your tester shows "Toll Free 555.555.55555" as the 'tel' 'value' because it doesn't ignore the 'type' (in the case above being "Toll Free")

Just tried the Testing Tool. But it keeps on telling me there's insufficient data to generate a preview. Even with the samples from http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=146750
Isn't that weird? Anyone has ideas?

I triend using your Rich Snippet Generator for my blog: http://www.makemoneyonlinesite.net,but no data was presented for consideration by me the webmaster.
RDFa for me on my videos, it's ok.
This one for example give me a rich snippet: http://www.octeam.fr/video/watch/94/amd-hd-5870--nvidia-8800-gt-physx.html
The only issue I got is that the "count" parameter should only grab the numeric value, because I got "votes reviews" instead of just "reviews" provided by the rich snippet.
So google just need some tunings on the parameters functions, but this is a great job !
Thanks everyone for all of the feedback and suggestions in response to our Rich Snippets update. We'll continue to make improvements to the parser and documentation based on common points of difficulty and announce changes as we make them.
The most common challenge we've seen is understanding the various reasons why the message "Insufficient data to generate the preview" shows up in the testing tool. We have added an FAQ describing the reasons this error can occur on the Rich Snippets Tips and Tricks page here:

Regarding international support, we added support for Rich Snippets in Japanese last week. It is now available for Google users in English and Japanese. We are looking forward to adding support for more languages in upcoming months.

Hi i am the webmaster of a restaurant site, and i put some reviews wich can be found on the web on this site. Do you think i am legible to use the rich snippets and will it benefit ?
My client has a product site for infants and babies. People that visit the site rate and review the products. The third party company that they have license the review software from said that "google doesn't use that for product or retail sites. Is that correct or not. Thank you.
Following this post, I created a website on Google App Engine that allows peoples with a google account to create and publish their FOAF profile !
