Since both tennis and table tennis are in the Olympics, perhaps you're wondering: if there's soccer, why not "table soccer?" Of course, we know table soccer by another name; and while foosball may not be an Olympic sport, we still cheered Nathan Johns and Jan Backes—two members of our Search Quality team—as they brought home the foosball silver medal at the search engine foosball smackdown at SES San Jose.

"Smackdown" doesn't quite equate to "Olympics," but check out the intensity—you could hear a pin drop!

The gold medal (cup) went to the search engine down the road. :)

Yahoo's first place winners Daniel Wong and Jake Rosenberg.

Just to be sure they weren't ringers, I quizzed Daniel and Jake, "How can you prevent a file from being crawled?" They correctly answered, "robots.txt."

Gold cup well deserved.

"Table football, or alternately foosball, is a table-top game that is based on association football (soccer). Table football is normally called foosball in the United States and Canada." :-) !!

I liked this quote "The gold medal (cup) went to the search engine down the road. :)" He He!!

Cheers!

I had seen references on TV (such as in Friends) to table football as foosball but it was pronounced "foozeball" so I never realised how it was spelt. Yet another way that Google has improved my knowledge! ;)

Spelt? What does foosball have to do with wheat?

Is there a better trio than Google/SEO/Foosball? OMG, I'm in love! Gratz on the super gold cup, it's very pretty. I would like to challenge Nathan Johns and Jan Backes to a match on my local Tornado Table. Bring it on sisters, my 5 and roll over will blow your mind...

@Daniel: Strangely enough, the commentary you mention is not indexed in Google. At least not at the time of this post :-)

@Flogginadeadhorse: Yep, it was a great fussball match. I love watching fussball. Fussball is the best :)

@daniel: Thanks for sharing! (And watch out for us next year, LOL.)

@Juan Mendizabal: My Spanish is a little rusty, but for the most part, it's best not to spam a Google blog about reciprocal link schemes.

I like the cup, but if you got it from the right place it should have come personalized to make it recognition right ;)

We could have done a much better job at awardsR.us! :)

I have been trying to print my calendar and to no avail. I also am using Chrome. I switched back to Internet Explorer and the print function worked great. I like Chrome so please see if you can fix it. Rudy

Foosball is a highly competitive sport? Oh yes, just watch the action anywhere you find young guys charged up with a competitive spirit.
