Introducing Code Search Sitemaps

Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 12:59 PM

The Sitemaps team is continuing its trend of extending the Sitemap Protocol for specific products and content types. Our latest work with the Google Code Search team now enables you to create Sitemaps that contain information about public source code you host and would like to include in Code Search. There's more information about this new functionality on the Google Code blog. If you're eager to get going, take a look at our Help Center documentation, create a Code Search Sitemap, sign into Google Webmaster Tools, and submit a Sitemap for Code Search!

sure wish there was another way to verify my site and be able to use Google webmaster. (http://buccoblog.mlblogs.com)

I can't add anthing to the header because I'm not in control of the hosted blog platform at MLB and obviously I can't upload a file called xxxxxxxx.html.

But I've been writing that blog for nearly two years.

Ughh..

Hi Jake,

you're right there is the need of a third validation method (hidden layer or something).

At the moment it's often hard to add the html file on sites with wordpress or other CMS application that makes the use of mod_rewrite. I learned that only the meta tag validation works without any problems. But I don't like to have this header on all pages....

Just a though - doesn't it work to actually just paste the meta verify tag in the blog?

is it possible for someone to explain to me how to enter this verification tag?? i have tried and tried and i cannot figure out what google wants. i don't know anything about html, but i do know how to copy and paste. i don't have the pattern on my home page that google offers for an example. i would really appreciate some input on this.. i asked google for help and didn't get an answer i could work with. thanks in advance for the assistance.

Hi folks--
If you're having questions or problems with verification, please post them (along with your URL) in our Webmaster Help Group and someone will help steer you in the right direction.

Hello,

I'd like to know more information on how I can bounce or send mail to another E-Mail Address! How do I do this or is there some sign-up or additional cost to do this?
