Common feedback we hear from webmasters is that you want us to improve the freshness of the data in Webmaster Tools. Understood. :) We've increased the update frequency for your verified sites' data, such as crawl, index, and search query stats. Much of this data depends on the content of your site. If your content doesn't change very often, or if you're not getting new links to your site, you may not see updates to your data every time you sign in to Webmaster Tools.
Please continue to post your Suggestions & feature requests in the Webmaster Help Group. It's one of our most important sources of feedback from the webmaster community. We seriously take it seriously.

This awesome, because I don't have search feature in my site and google search data is kind of week old.
Is the freshness based on the sitemap xml file or google will crawl and figure out the fresh content?
I'd still like to see which pages are in the Supplemental Results index for verified sites. Now that you don't show Supplemental Results labels in the search results, if you really want to "level the playing field" (as Adam Lasnik indicated over on Sphinn), then you need to make sure that Supplemental pages have an equal chance of ranking in search results with non-Supplemental pages.
Especially in site searches.
Search Query Stats is not always necessarily dependent on changed data - they could also be influenced by back links and the anchor text in them.
Also, there have been numerous examples of sites NOT CHANGING ANYTHING but suddently losing rankings on the SERPs. Or even having one long held search term totally disappear from the SERPs - then sometimes returning again.
This is why is it quite important to give detailed, fresh analyses of ranking stats.
More freshness is great. I'd like to see which pages have the assigned pagerank of low medium or high since that tool is otherwise pretty useless for our own needs.
It would also be great to amalgamate backlinks by URL because some sites have hundreds of links from one domain and I don't really need to see each and every one from the same site or forum when checking the backlinks.
Keep up the great work though. These tools are a lifesaver.
Will this increased crawl rate affect the data being absorbed to the search results too?
I mean since the webmasters data is being collected, will the normal content crawling also be done more frequently?
Cheers!
Mani

Sounds good! But I would also like to see a date associated with the keywords on the Query Stats page.
@Mani Karthik: We're increasing the rate at which we refresh the data displayed in webmaster tools, not the rate at which we crawl. Google constantly crawls the web, and we're constantly working to be able to crawl more of it more quickly; but those efforts are unrelated to the data refresh rate in webmaster tools.
@edi-l: The query stats show your average position (over a period of time) for given queries, so there's no one date to show.

Hi
This article is good and informative.

How about a response to penalties...That's what we, as webmasters, REALLY want to see!
Just read an article in the paper about the little graphics that are added to the Google Logo from time to time. What? There are a few out there that don't think Google represents all organizations? They can't possible think that everyone can be represented? I saw Sputnik, now Pavaratti, and all the other changes to the logo. THANK YOU! Keep it up. It is always fun to see what is up there...it is all good and friendly. Makes my day.

HI,
I am amit. My query is google has not cached index page of my website http://www.hotbabesncoolguys.com
I'm having trouble getting my site verified. I'm currently hosting the domain through Microsoft Office Live with a basic free account.
Has anyone been able to verify their site through this program?

I don't think so this feature is working for me at least. I have 10+ sites in webmaster tools but none of the site is being crawled properly.. imagine my one website last crawled on Jul 10, 2007. However I see that more than 200+ people are coming from Google search. All results are coming from old cache.. if Google crawls daily I expect more than 1000 users per day.
Would you please sort this out?
Very cool
