You may have noticed that some search results include a set of links below them to pages within the site. We've just updated our help center with information on how we generate these links, called Sitelinks, and why we show them. Our process for generating Sitelinks is completely automated. We show them when we think they'll be most useful to searchers, saving them time from hunting through web pages to find the information they are looking for. Over time, we may look for ways to incorporate input from webmasters too.

It will be nice to make it possible generate Sitelinks by hands of webmasters in some times
for example
such query can be as visit card for some site without any problem for websearch ranking and relevancy systems
Too bad that there isn't a way to manipulate the sitelinks in order or occurence.
Can you run your SiteLinks program more often? Our site changed more than a month ago and although I blocked those URLs with robots.txt, the old links still show up in the SiteLinks listing. FYI. the main Google index has included my new home page since the day after we launched it. Maybe SiteLinks doesn't do robots.txt? I have 301 redirects in place as well. I hope this post doesn't incite someone to just plain get rid of the my SiteLinks....i like them really I do.
We have rel="nofollow" - how about having rel="sitelinks" and rel="nositelinks" on links that as webmasters we consider would be our preference if Google was to decide to use sitelinks.
If we use rel=nofollow on a link, then that should not be used for sitelinks - obviously can't have two rel= on a particular link.
The rel=nofollow, or nositelinks should be defined as an absolute "no" from the webmaster. But the rel=sitelinks would be defining a preference that Google could decide or not decide to use.
Gives a little more control into the webmasters hands, but still ultimately leaves it to Google to decide.
I guess I can see the value in this:
It comes back to one of the many Googlisms - get the searcher to their goal asap.
Site links will only get picked up if your website structure is good enough - so chances are these links are gonna be fairly obvious to any user that visits your site....(you'd hope)
So basically big G is saving billions of users 1 whole click.
Mice everywhere are breathing a sigh of relief i'm sure.
Sometimes I think Google come up with these ideas
a) because they can
b) because they LOVE to fiddle with their own technology
c) because it provides another challenge for all the SEO gurus out there!
I'm looking forward to future developments on this - what if I don't like the sitelinks G choses? I'm sure there are some pages my clients would not want displayed even though they are linked to on every page. T & C, disclaimers, privacy policies etc
Yeah, it would be nice if webmaster was able to generate sitelinks or at least manipulate existing.
Do you think goole will add this functionality in a foreseeable future?

Hi, i can see the sitelinks in the webmasters tools, but i can´t see this in the resukt search ? somebody know why ? Nice notice can use this nice tool !!!
Richard, if you don't like the sitelinks that are appearing for your site, you can block them using Google Webmaster Tools.
Reunificacion de Prestamos, sitelinks don't appear for all queries. We only show them when we think they'll be relevant for a particular query. Learn more here.
I think Sitelinks are a good idea. It has automatically picked 7 of the main areas of my 650,000 page site but not for number 8 which I have had to block. Not bad for a first attempt however I too think there will be some need for web controllers input with this regard.
All fine if you have the number one ranking. If you're #2 and your competition just got 8 new links, you're hosed. Is it really in the intrest of Google users to direct even more traffic to the top spot?
I can see sitelinks to my site in webmaster tools but they don't show up for any search/keyword in Google.
Hi,
Is there anyone who will reply?
Thanks.
I am wondering if these site links are just created as the site is crawled or over a period of time
I have get to display my sitelinks for a customer "Consulting Credit" in google spain, but no in google.com, someone know why ? thanks !!!
I recently got these sublinks on my site in google and we were doing 3000 a month in adwords and were drawing over 12,000 unique visitors each month. I am sure it was a combo of adwords and traffic.
I wish I could get it for my site now but I may not be as important as my client
